Theoretical Confrontation

Street Failure vs. Akris Fall/Winter 2010

Rumours say that the street has become the catwalk. And true beauty is mostly to be found aside known fashion paths. Well, there is a fine line between felicity and failure. There are always two options.

Right Or Wrong

You nasty girl, you nasty, you trashy. You classless girl, you sleazy, you freaky... Revealing skin in summer, yes we like this. But there is ways to do it right (above) and ways to do it wrong (below).

Pussy Trash

Like the swine flu it spreads everywhere. Not always in its prettiest form. Unfortunately. One more evidence for the fact that kitten love is one of the most difficult balance acts in fashion. The brave step forward.

The Beauty And The Beast

Cheap Monday Spring/Summer 2009 vs. German White Trash

There's always a fine line between good trash and bad trash. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Acid wash is a nice example: usually it doesn't work if you actually think the clothes you wear are beautiful.

London Couture

Romain Kremer Spring/Summer 2008? Or maybe Jeremy Scott? Did we miss a trend? A fabulous new collection? Or is it just Camden Market trash? One thing is for sure, everyone in the city is wearing the matching yellow shopping bags.

Club Tropicana

Frankfurt strikes back. With this wonderful couple wearing patterns that are sugar for your eyes. He represents the island and the sea, she chose the role of the bamboo. I wish more people would thoughtfully reflect on a perfect matching outfit.

Flea Market Beauty

That's how to dress for success when you are selling tableware kitsch at a car-boot sale. Showing your cleavage is maybe the best strategy. And wearing winter boots of course. True competition to Brigitte Nielsen. Ah, and her fellow is already waiting in the car...

New Species

This morning I discovered a sweet little animal in the urban jungle: the ordinary cling ape. He's a bit shy and timid. That's why he always holds his precious back pack in his arms. What scares him most are business men in suits. He likes conspecifics who wear their back packs on the front. And if you see one, don't feed. They might bite.

Lost The Way

We met him several times. And he was always wearing his pink overall. He is a true style leader. Unfortunately, I forget his name. And honestly, I don't want to be polemic. His style concept seems to be right. Just the execution is a bit improvable. Lynn & Horst alternatively recommend:

Can't Touch This

It's not my fault. I am not asking people to show parts of their body no one wants to see. It just happens. I am not mean. I am just there and coincidentally have a camera with me. That's all. That's reality. If you wanna complain, I am not the complaint department.

Mean Again

It is not politically correct, I know, but today I stalked two sweet girls. First i was thrilled by the handbag, secondly by their grace. And because they don't want to loose any of their precious pounds, they took the elevator. Horst himself took the stairs instead and awaited the ladies one level lower. Enjoy my little photo love story.

Waiting for rescue. Cause every step burns calories...oh my god!

And here they are! Can you feel the elegance?

A German saying... Wie die Mutter, so die Tochter!

She knows about her charisma. And she knows how to wear undersized tops with pride.

I feel amazed

Hot Dog

Hot-dog stand, train station, Uppsala, Sweden

I always recommend sausages for lunch. It's the best. Always guaranteeing perfect shape. I even could convince some Swedes. The Horst mission continues...

Munich Pattern Explosion

Dries van Noten Spring/Summer 2005
Louis Vuitton
Spring/Summer 2007

This lady decided to do it the Dries van Noten way! Pattern versus pattern for a more sophisticated and eclectic look. Of course she knew she would pass by matching tulip tubs to make her outfit complete. Ahh, and do we even see a Louis Vuitton bag in that thrilling combination??? No - she sticks to the original. That's authentic high street fashion!

Berlin Street Style - Mickey Fur

"Hauptsache reich und keinen Geschmack" (Be rich! Taste does not count!) - that seems to be one of the guidelines of old rich ladies as often seen in Munich but now also in Berlin... How else could one explain why women should wear a fur coat with Mickey Mouse Allover print? For us these kind of things will always be a mystery...

Flea market vibes

Last weekend I was stylehunting at a flewmarket and made two "precious" catches.

Style 1 Layering: XXXL nylon plastic-boombastic ski jacket meets 80s denim vest, fleece jacket and (comparatively classic) shirt.By the way have you recognized "Käptain Blaubär" (Captain Bluebear) in the front?

Style 2.1 Tiger Lilly: Oh my gosh! Imitate snake skin leggings plus leopard print handbag and matching headband.

Style 2.2 The Man in Blue: The oh-so-famous fleece jacket (please pay attention to his wife who wears exactly the same model... but in red... maybe the most favorite dressing style amongst the species of tasteless German). Not to forget the shoes (if one can call that "shoes"), the 3/4 pants and socks. Yes, it's true. That's reality! Ok, but one thing I have to confess: the blue-checkered shopping trolley is great!

Bonus Style: And when you zoom into the picture, you can also discover the infamous Military Lady!!! Uahhh!

Is bad taste good?

There are some people who stand out the crowd without even wanting to. Some people who wear the latest trends without even knowing. While others are trying and trying in vain. This man picked a combination that truly strikes. Unintentionally he is so very New Rave that it hurts.

As in many cases, the perfect styling is not just about wearing the stuff that was hot 30 years ago but to reinterpret and combine it in a modern and contemporary way. Like Henrik Vibskov does...

Yours
