Spastor Spring/Summer 2005

I remember a time when I first discovered Spastor. Attracted by the rough charme of the name itself but also by the collection's inherent Raf spirit, deconstruction of formal wear and obsession with youth culture.

Kitsch Lovers

Photos Lina Scheynius, Marcelo Krasilcic

Light and shadow, yin and yang, minimalism and kitsch. I was always wondering why I am so intrigued by tacky sculptures of porcelain, but now I know. It's this anti-fascination that makes you value a pure white cube even more. Life makes sense again.

Real-size magazine spread runway looks revived. Captured by ingenious Marcelo Krasilcic. I especially adore the food plates arrangement in the second picture.

Marcelo Chic

My selection of Sir Marcelo Krasilcic's Krazy Chic collection. I know it's not high fashion. But fun. And one can never have enogh tote bags. The only thing I am missing are briefs, Marcelo.

Male Mattress

Photos Marcelo Krasilcic

We all know him. We all love him. Marcelo Krasilcic. When it comes to his work I first remember his mattrass series. And his still life faces of course. It's all about nudity, yes, but it's also about a playful vision of self-expressive sexuality. It's about the ordinary offering new contexts and being transformed into something artificial, building the frame for portraits of stripped-to-the-soul protagonists.

P.S.: Last night I was introduced to social porn. Just to let you know.

In Bed

The Lynn & Horst series about intimate photography continues. As promised, we'll see a lot of bed sheets and a lot of crinkles. Half-naked boys and half-naked girls... And as special featured part: floral prints. So let's go to bed.

And next time, we might even get closer: it's all about 'boys & girls & bath tubs'...
