Desired #6

Multi-strap Ankle Boots Ann Demeulemeester

Lately, I love any shoe with excessive detailing. Multi-strapped, multi-laced, multi-embellished. Heavy foot gear devoted to the useless decoration, the Antikraft in a minimalist wardrobe.

Welcome To The Camp

1. Jil Sander Spring/Summer 2011 & Issey Miyake Spring/Summer 2002

2. Yohji Yamamoto Spring/Summer 2008

3. Issey Miyake Fall/Winter 2001

4. Junya Watanabe Fall/Winter 2003

Camp is an aesthetic sensibility that regards something as appealing because of its bad taste and ironic value. When the usage appeared in 1909 it denoted: ostentatious, exaggerated, affected and theatrical. By the middle of the 1970s the definition comprised: banality, artifice, mediocrity and ostentation so extreme as to have perversely sophisticated appeal. I am pseudo-intellectual camp.

Shush!

Artworks Takashi Murakami

Kitsch is when our feet touch wet green grass. And golden raspberries sparkle in the sky. Kitsch admits the happy yeah. Rich, lavish and pointless. Loud at first sight, quietly prompting surreal truths to your mind.

Flashback

Raf Simons Fall/Winter 2009

The perfect sneaker. The exuberant explosion of colour and structure. A classic suit's best friend. In fact, Horst's new best friend. Rivets, mesh and detachable neoprene gaiters.

Alienesque

John Galliano Spring/Summer 2003

Porcelain dolls in exuberant colours. Wrapped in tunics, veils, dresses and scarfs. Too much of everything. Too much of romanticism. Too much of orientalism. Overdosage of such a degree only a John Galliano is allowed to.

Schizophrenic Characters

Ida Sjöstedt Fall/Winter 2010

Staying true to herself and her aesthetics, Ida Sjöstedt celebrates a richness and decadence for Fall/Winter 2010. Fine and delicate structures that cover an evil core. Attracted to sin and crudity. Princesses with multiple personalities.

Furious

Prada Fall/Winter 2007

How amazing was this collection. I am still holding my breath. Massive fur attraction. So wonderful and soft as cotton candy and chest hair. Excuse my weird connotations. But this is the eptiome of a winter collection.

Melancholia

Claudia, Naomi and Christy in bondage gear for Versace in 1992. This is perfection. The full dose of exuberant fashion tackiness. An iconic perfection that seems to be inexistent today.

Admit The Happy Yeah

Thom Browne Spring/Summer 2009

Okay, another NY Fashion Week post. But I had to show this. Everyone is freaking out seeing the new Thom Browne collection questioning wearability and exuberance. But I am just wowed - in a positive way. This is one thing, Thom Browne always guarantees.
