Camp is an aesthetic sensibility that regards something as appealing because of its bad taste and ironic value. When the usage appeared in 1909 it denoted: ostentatious, exaggerated, affected and theatrical. By the middle of the 1970s the definition comprised: banality, artifice, mediocrity and ostentation so extreme as to have perversely sophisticated appeal. I am pseudo-intellectual camp.

Frankfurt, flea market

Compared on an international level, Frankfurt flea market is amongst the top. Nowhere else, one can find such a high degree of authentic 90s fashion and design. This time I had a lovely talk with a couple eating currywurst and offering me a special deal on their unwashed s'Oliver sweatshirts.

Lately, I feel the desire to dress someone in outdoor clothes and create the image of a forest worker. With water-repellent coats, quilted vests and hiking boots. Preferably in tones of moss green, light turquoise, grey and light brown.

Ill-fitting shirts reminiscent of scrubs, oversized and flat. Neon coloured sunglasses worn around the neck instead of a stethoscope. Miuccia's man is a cosmetic surgeon. And I'd like my chin and cheekbones done.

How I wish I had found my summer suit. Light grey or off-white. Preferably with raw cut edges and a textured sheerness. I would walk along the river, sit down once in a while, eat strawberries and wear some funny sunglasses.

When looking at this collection I instantly recall Vivian Ward and Kit de Luca. Their signature elements of appearance: tights, wigs and lipstick. Heikki Salonen gives my beloved Pretty Woman characters a killer edge.

One beautiful detail of the previously shown collection are these glasses. A clear round frame, classic shape, perfect size. Plus: folded lenses. It seemed impossible to me to find the right type of sunglasses, but this battle is finally over. Victory!
