Sherman Questions IV

1. Cindy Sherman Untitled #129, 1983
2. Prada Fall/Winter 2006

Melancholic women, beaten by their fears and the eternity of life. The will to create is mostly motivated by the artist's urge to achieve immortality. While art is still said to posess the strength of eternal elevation, fashion (and in particular campaign imagery) is doomed to a short life span per se.

Beltium

1. Ann Demeulemeester Fall/Winter 2011
2. Raf Simons Fall/Winter 2006

The next thing I want is a cummerbund. And I wanna wear it everyday. Sometimes I wish life was a fashion editorial. And everyone would just dare to wear their heart on the outside.

Winter Sleep

Rick Owens Fall/Winter 2006

This collection captures my current condition best. Wrapped in blankets and thermal wear. Minus degrees and black currant tea. When having a closer look, I do wish for Rick Owens's return to skinny boys sportswear.

Escapism

Mihara Yasuhiro Fall/Winter 2006

The time has come. I've always denied it and never ascribed any relevance to it. But given this collection I am ready for men in bootcut. Maybe I will still never wear them myself but maybe I was just afraid of it for nothing. And you?

The Omen II

Christova & Endourova Fall/Winter 2006

Yes, they are already amidst us. They conquered fashion and can now be booked as supermodels. With umpf and attitude. I always thought this was a teenage fantasy - but it truly is reality.

Skunk

Collection Prada Fall/Winter 2006

Miucca Prada's zebra fur helmet promises a soft and intimate embrace. The allegory for security and protection. A superelevated construct that uses irony and surrealism as its shield.

Déja Vu

Miu Miu Fall/Winter 2006

Existence is a lie. Everything has been before. And will be repeated in future. Where Miu Miu began 2006, Prada continued 2009. And as always, the beginning is more beautiful than the end.

Agglomeration

Prada Fall/Winter 2006

Dries van Noten Fall/Winter 2006

Fall/Winter 2006 undeniably was the season of the kitten. I've been asked where my animalistic fascination derives from. It's the dichotomy of tackiness and timelessness.
