Black for good

Give me a R. Give my a U. Give me a S. Give me a K. Give me a I. Give me a N.
Ruskin. The perfect chair, clear in shape, sophisticated in material. No "schischi", no "blabla", no "Schnörkel", nothing "hier und da". Just pure design. Merci Habitat!

Take slim, take oversized. Make it black, make it white. Add geometry, add color. Cite dadaism, cite surrealism. Be subtle, be feminine.

He-Men

Bernhard Willhelm just flashed me when I discovered his new collection for Spring/Summer 2008. Very action figures! Very freaky! Very nasty!

NYC Wang

It's good to know what we're going to waer in Spring/Summer 2008, but what about now? There's one collection that provides some inspiration: Alexander Wang's Resort Collection for 2007. An overall relaxed sense of luxury, loosely draped fabrics and a clean look best describe his designs.

And please pay attention to the glasses - just too cool to be true.

Alexander Wang Resort Collection 2007

Personally, I like the mens clothes better but there are some pieces for women that are nice and extremely wearable, too.

Is bad taste good?

There are some people who stand out the crowd without even wanting to. Some people who wear the latest trends without even knowing. While others are trying and trying in vain. This man picked a combination that truly strikes. Unintentionally he is so very New Rave that it hurts.

As in many cases, the perfect styling is not just about wearing the stuff that was hot 30 years ago but to reinterpret and combine it in a modern and contemporary way. Like Henrik Vibskov does...

Perfect Symbiosis

The style formula:
Bandana + Nike Vest + Coat = (young + proud)*2 + vintage + classy = 1oo points (plus free lipstick and sausage)...

Parachute styledive

We all know that fashion designers are always seeking for inspiration. In one case we maybe revealed the secret behind the collection and runaway show of...
Ok, we won't tell you too much, you should have a look yourself and draw your own conclusions...

First: The "inspiration"

Second: The "collection"

But pssst, don't tell anyone!

Fresh meat: Julia and Ben

Another proof for the fact that German fashion design is not that bad. Far from it! It is fantastic, full of surprises and always bringing a "wow" into our minds.

Especially for gentlemen the Berlin based designer duo has nice things to offer.

Robyn wears Jeremy

Check out Robyn's video "Handle Me". She's wearing the mind-blowing Happy Daze collection of Jeremy Scott (see HorSTYLE Lesson No7). I love the guitar dress!

Robyn just knows how it works.

Clockwise from top left: Carin Wester, Maison Martin Margiela, Comme des Garçons, Jeremy Scott. Thom Browne, Dries van Noten, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen.

Best worn now! In the dull winter. Make a sign!

Space Cookies

I sooooooo love frosting and sugar pearls!!!
Especially on homemade cookies. The tiny little creations you see below are the result of a 1h shopping and 5h baking session (it's not so easy to find exactly what you're looking for). But now I'm totally happy with the outcome. I proudly present: Christmas cookies made in Germany - with so much love!
Frosted rings with sugar streusel
Chocolate donkeys
Stockings with gold pearls
Snowmen with cocos topping

And many, many more variatons...
(Recipe - as always - on demand)

Pumpkin pie
Baby if you leave I guess you'll die
Sugar sugar honey can't you see
You can't live without me" - Cultured Pearls

Game Of The Day

If you have another boring day at work try this: Type a funny/nasty term like "Dicke Schlampe" (bulky slut) into Google and have a look at the image results. This is what I got:

Can you do better? ;-)

Fashion loves Photography

Tillmann Lauterbach, born in Germany and raised up in Spain worked as artist, photographer and model and now finally followed the call of fashion to Paris.

Tillmann Lauterbach Spring/Summer 2008

His work impresses due to the subtle details, the fragile aesthetics and the stunningly beautiful photographic imagery which reminds me of Ryan McGinleys Kate Moss series or the unflattering lense of Jürgen Teller.

I love them all
