Munich tonight. A weekend dedicated to sausage and beer. Willing to live the Bavarian lifestyle to the full extent. Needless to say that I will hunt for an original pair of embroidered lederhosen. /HORST
The Dada weekend continues. And what is more German and Dada for a man to wear than lederhosen. Thanks to Bernhard this item has survived in our consciousness. The only question remaining is: what kind shall I wear? /HORST
Absolutely loved this collection. Carvings on planks as dresses. One cannot deny a certain resemblance to the traditional Bavarian balcony. Or the typical yet brutal wall systems Germans are so fond of. But yes, bad childhood memories can be transformed into renewed contexts of beauty. /HORST
Living in a strictly square, cold and clinical concrete box is my idea of perfect architecture. Concrete walls, concrete floors. White furniture, steel kitchen. Emptiness and some flea market findings. /HORST
I herewith declare the comeback of a fashion sin: the tribal T-shirt. Even unfashionable people don't wear it anymore. And that's our chance. Time for a statement. Time for late 90s German technowear. There is only one rule: It needs to be minimalist. /HORST
The dirndl has seemingly emancipated itself from the archaic heritage. Adapted and transformed into concepts of high-fashion. As German sausage myself, this tendency is highly appreciated, although I am still hoping for a comeback of the lederhosen. /HORST
Rediscovered in the depths of my closet while putting away the winter stuff and bringing out the clothes for spring time: this traditional Bavarian jacket. Freakin' hot, I must say. Sometimes it's so good to be from Germany. /HORST
There's nothing more exquisit and elegant than German nail studio and hairdresser windows. Nothing more romantic and poetic. Nothing more reminescent of the Golden Age of display decoration. /HORST
Thanks to my little sister I rediscovered the first German real life tv series. Impressively demonstrating German late 80s middle class kitsch bodybuilder ceramic cats lifestyle. Meet Annemie, Fred, Frank and his hair dresser girlfriend Pia!
Reminds me of Jeremy Scott's short film project Starring with Tori Spelling and Liz Goldwyn. Check it out! /HORST
I don't know if it's a German thing that old and/or old-fashioned people read Groschenromane (dime novels) but it's really fascinating. So is the fact that German porn magazine readers like to hide their treasures between gardening or dog magazines. Lynn dared to analyse this phenomenon in-depth. The conclusion: Sushi on Muschi (pussy) is the next big party hit!
I studied German literature, just by the way... /LYNN & HORST
For men this summer is all about rolled up trousers, tartan shirts and fine leather shoes with or without knee-high socks. Swedish guys already show how it looks best. Now the German men are asked to do it even better! /HORST
Very very beautiful and advanced. The powerful altercation of color and geometry really responds to the Lynn & Horst idea of fashion design with an unseen twist. Desirable! /LYNN & HORST
Styleshaking Jessie tagged us today. And we have no other choice than following the rules...
These rules are: 1. Link the person that tagged you. 2. Tell the rules. 3. Tell six unimportant obsessions of you. 4. Link to six people. 5. Comment on their blog that they have been tagged.
And now: 3 + 3 uninmportant obsessions of Lynn & Horst.
1. Wearing 80s Trash red lips and nails. 2. Grabbing other peoples asses. 3. Listening to Eurodance and translating the lyrics into German while singing.
After his art project Men In Tights here's Bernhard Willhelms Fall/Winter 08 collection. And surprise, surprise we see a lot of tights. A lot of naked skin. But this time also really nice and wearable clothes.
It's been overdue for a long time but finally here are some beautifully brutal paintings by German artist Norbet Bisky. There's a big fight going on between critics if he's ingenious or just trash and superficial. And the good thing is: He's both. And that makes up his brilliance. /HORST
"Hauptsache reich und keinen Geschmack" (Be rich! Taste does not count!) - that seems to be one of the guidelines of old rich ladies as often seen in Munich but now also in Berlin... How else could one explain why women should wear a fur coat with Mickey Mouse Allover print? For us these kind of things will always be a mystery...
