A fine selection of out-takes from the Narcissistic Renaissance series. Remanent material, left for revelation. There's always more that you haven't seen. There's gotta be. /HORST
Another photo booth experiment. While my lower body disappears, the torso becomes a tribute to the year 1990. Hedi Slimane, Jean Paul Gaultier and Horst become one. At least for this very moment. /HORST
Hedi Slimane ten years ago. So modern still. And so desirable again. Everything I need is a white sleeveless shirt and a pair of black skinny trousers. And this is all. Always forever. /HORST
Narcissistic Renaissance describes a movement that uses virtual means and reproduction methods to document the re-discovery of ancient iconographic imagery. Furthermore, the sculpturing process is achieved through the self-reflective lense of photo booth.
Once ahead our time... when we live in underground bunkers, artificial brutalist spaces made of concrete, furnished with leather and Persian carpets. Sleeveless will become the uniform. Tribal tattoos will indicate the social rank. /HORST
1. Comme des Garçons x Speedo 2. 1950s Vintage 3. Dior Homme
I am currently undergoing a fixation for speedos. Black, tight, minimalist. Comme des Garçons, Dior Homme or, obviosuly, Speedo. Who will advice and guide me to the best package? /HORST
1. Karim Sadli 2. Dior Homme Spring/Summer 2011 Backstage
It has only been lately that I've realized the beauty of a male torso's side. A view that is rarely being shared or descried. Therefore, I kindly solicit its more frequent appearance. /HORST
Erase and rewind. 10 years back to the slender and skinny. A radical image of masculinity, slowly being forgotten and replaced by the hunk. Let's be this again. Wearing sleeveless shirts, dipped in metaphoric glitter. /HORST
The male body as an object of proportion. Divided. Extremeties opposed in relation. The arm, the musculus biceps brachii as the centre of asymmetric divergence. Fabrics and mind are taken away, then replaced again. /HORST
I quite adore the layering of this collection. Heavy knit cuffs, waistcoats, loose tapered trousers, overlong sleeves. This is how I like to dress. This is who I want to be. /HORST
I might have a slight aversion to Kris van Assche but I have to admit my adoration of his x-ray jackets and short-sleeved coats for Spring/Summer 2010. Simulating an insight view while not hiding the details of construction. /HORST
These are amazingly ugly and great at the same time. Golden jeans with massive jewels. Remind me of a supersized plastic saphire ring that I had as a child. Memories of relevance. /HORST
When Hedi Slimane was Dior Homme the fits were right, the campaigns were right, the feeling was right. I'm still dreaming of a skinny tight Dior suit with cropped legs. Can someone please order me a 44 from Spring/Summer 2006? /HORST
