Couples

1. Céline Spring/Summer 2012
2. Matthew Miller Spring/Summer 2012

The horizontal block stripe, white on white. A belted waist. While he is wearing layered shorts, she sports a deconstructed version of skirt-like flaps. A perfect couple has many things in common, yet shows differential characteristics.

Bootylicious

Rick Owens Fall/Winter 2012

Although minimalist at heart, I tend to fall for visually busy and complicated footgear: multi-laced and multi-strapped. With its reduced architecture and hidden closure construction, this version succeeds in uniting the best of both extremes.

Desired #4

Reptile Briefcase Comme des Garçons

Although the concept of having a briefcase attracts me, I haven't found the exact purpose for it yet. Their appearance just causes an instant urge to hold, touch and own them. Maybe someone could help me out.

Post Paris XI

A false encyclopaedic guide to the prêt-à-porter collections for Spring/Summer 2012.
Eleventh chapter: Comme des Garçons

1. Comme des Garçons Spring/Summer 2012
2. René Magritte
3. Irving Penn

The principle of 'bride' taken to the last extreme extent. The bridal veil becomes the dress. Becomes everything. Some may call it totalist fashion. I'd like to call it commitment.

Post Paris VIII

A false encyclopaedic guide to the prêt-à-porter collections for Spring/Summer 2012.
Eighth chapter: Chanel

1. Chanel Spring/Summer 2012
2. Richard Avedon for Versace
3. Axolotl

I was pleasantly surprised by the supercooled modernity of the collection by Monsieur Karl. Most probably due to the appearance of techno mermaids. Dipped in metallic silver and glossy white. Wearing strapless gill tops and pearl piercings.

Übermensch

Rick Owens Spring/Summer 2012

The minimalist energy of crunchy white robes, graphic artwork and 3D sleeve shapes achieved what houses like Jil Sander, Céline and Calvin Klein usually aim for. While staying true to who he is, Rick exceeded all of them.

Antiseptic

PVC T-shirt Josef Lazo
White shirt worn underneath Josef Lazo
Leather tie Second Hand
Terry cloth T-shirt worn as skirt Second Hand

When worn directly on bare skin, PVC does not only imitate wetness it also triggers actual perspiration. Therefore, it should always be carefully consumed in small doses. Considering all risks and side-effects.

Orpheus & Eurydike

Wayne Spring/Summer 2012

Before diving into the realms of Paris Fashion Week, one should look back, pause for a moment, look closely, notice and appreciate the potentially overseen, the possibly good. She is ascending.

Consequences

1. Paul McCarthy Dick and Vagina, 1998
2. Akira Akira Spillberg, 2006

The act of relief. Time for relief. In preliminary review Fashion Week gave us vegetable prints and a lot of plastic, no orgasms. Once again, our hopes lie upon Parisian shoulders.

Surreptitiousness

Ann-Sofie Back Atelje Spring/Summer 2012

And again, she defines fashion. Probably the most underrated designer of our times, every detail is exactly what it is meant to be. Every element, every shape. The ultimate balance of neglect and restraint.

Removal

Top Helmut Lang

White letters on white ground. White cotton on white skin. Helmut Lang Underwear. Luckily it did not become one of the shredded fragments for his latest Make It Hard installation. I'll make it my everyday uniform.

Nuclear Whiteness

Dior Homme Spring/Summer 2012

Once ahead our time... when we live in underground bunkers, artificial brutalist spaces made of concrete, furnished with leather and Persian carpets. Sleeveless will become the uniform. Tribal tattoos will indicate the social rank.

Weight Watchers

Calvin Klein Spring/Summer 2011, 2009 & 2008

As a gym bunny myself, I tend to identify more and more with the Calvin Klein man. Square and hunky. While I'll most probably stay on the slender side, I'd like to watch you becoming him.

Undoubtedly

Maison Martin Margiela Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2011

Earlier today, the infamous Maison fulfilled a Horst prophecy and presented transparent suits and plastic raincoats. Besides, the post-baroque Hotel Maison Champs Elysées delivered the backdrop for brutalist motorcycle jackets and tape-draped evening dresses.

Disk Warriors

1. Jil Sander Fall/Winter 2000 & Spring/Summer 2010
2. Jil Sander Fall/Winter 2010 & Unknown
3. Jil Sander Spring/Summer 1998 & Spring/Summer 2006

Jil Sander and the shape. The circle and the irregular square. It has happened before and it will happen again. Just as the shape itself, it's a recurrent element that I dare to foresee in the upcoming collections.

Anti Körper II

Artworks Carsten Nicolai

Good art does something to you. It becomes part of an inner conceptual archive. Ideally, its theoretical thesis is subtly adapted and applied to one's own physical surroundings. The result can be seen below.
